1. How is it made?
Organic grape must is extracted from grapes, mixed with organic red wine vinegar and aged in oak barrels for six years. Our honey comes from bees that gather nectar from flowers and thyme bushes located on the Mountains of Crete. Finally, balsamic vinegar is combined with the right proportion of the honey to ensure a mix that hits all the right notes.
2. What is the difference between your Mousto Balsamic Vinegar and Honey Balsamic Vinegar?
The Mousto Balsamic Vinegar has been sweetened naturally with the juice of the grapes while the Honey Balsamic Vinegar has been sweetened naturally with honey. The Honey Balsamic Vinegar is more subtle in flavour as it is not as sweet as the Mousto Balsamic Vinegar.
3. Why does the consistency of the product vary from batch to batch?
This is an organic and 100% natural product. Hence, every batch of ingredients, especially the grapes, is slightly different due to weather and crop conditions, just like wine. This can lead to slight variations in each batch of the product, especially since we do not add any caramel, fillers, binders or preservatives.
